Insurance Service Specialist

Emily joined the Colton Groome team in July 2021. She was introduced to the team as the sister of Amy Gillen (CGF’s Manager of Insurance) and fit right into CGF’s culture. Because Emily had experience in insurance services—through her professional experience at Northwestern Mutual Financial—she was able to step in remotely during a Colton Groome team member’s maternity leave. Emily did such an incredible job, she was asked to come aboard in-person, fulltime; she relocated from Kentucky to do so.

If you’ve seen Emily’s radiant smile when entering the office, you know she has an unbelievable warmth about her. And while she’s served the community in a breadth of roles—as a teacher’s assistant, nanny, nursing assistant, and more—her volunteer work is utterly selfless. As a volunteer, Emily was a certified Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for children in the social service system. Now that she has firmly planted roots in North Carolina, she plans to transition as a Gaudian ad Litem (GAL) to continue her good work.
